Photos of the month:
During April 08, Orphan Care Program volunteers & beneficiaries at Chilumba (Southern Malawi) harvested their sorghum fields following a crop growing project, funded through the HOPE for AIDS program, which was developed in response to the volunteers desire to assist with increasing food security for the orphans they were visiting.
Many of the beneficiaries, having harvested, have now been able to 'repay' their original seed (which will be kept to assist others to be able to plant next season) leaving them enough to eat now as well as to keep for planting again next year.
